From our Dolphinton depot, we deliver a reliable, efficient and cost-effective concrete service that our customers trust to keep their projects moving.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that plays a vital part in the day-to-day delivery of our volumetric concrete service. You’ll be operating modern vehicles, working closely with colleagues and customers, and representing Border Mix on sites across Edinburgh, the Lothians, South Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders. Flexibility is essential, as we are a customer-led business and no two days are the same.
Responsibilities- Safely operate Class 2 HGV vehicles in line with company and legal standards
- Deliver volumetric concrete to customer sites efficiently and professionally
- Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues on site
- Work independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Maintain high standards of punctuality, reliability and work ethic
- Carry out basic vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
- Support operational efficiency by adapting to changing schedules and site requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and hard-working
- A positive, team-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently when required
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Previous experience operating volumetric concrete mixers
- Experience working with concrete or construction materials
- Basic HGV maintenance or mechanical skills
- 40+ hours per week (flexibility is key)
- Typical hours are 7.30am/8.00am to 5.00pm, but start and finish times may vary
- Based at our Dolphinton depot, covering Edinburgh, the Lothians, South Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders
- Above-average salary
- 28 days’ annual leave per annum (inclusive of public holidays)
