Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, your duties will include:
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly accounts in line with group timetables and accounting policies.
- Investigate and report monthly variances against budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with business partners to review budget vs actuals, identify variances, and drive meaningful improvements.
- Review payroll processing by third-party providers.
- Complete monthly journals and departmental reports.
- Prepare/review VAT and Intrastat returns.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues promptly.
- Handle expense processing and support implementation of new systems.
- Perform PAYE payments and reconciliations.
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation and review.
- Support cashflow preparation and monitoring.
- Prepare year-end schedules for external audit teams.
- Provide cover for subsidiaries, joint ventures, and other entities as needed.
- Engage with external stakeholders including banks, ERP providers, and auditors.
- Support the weekly payroll process.
- Initiate and support projects that improve financial processes, systems, and reporting quality.
- Support the monitoring and submission of grant claims.
- Contribute to the development of financial systems and processes.
- Proactively participate in the individual performance management process, achieving SMART targets and continuous personal developments.
- Fully participate in the development and achievement of the Departmental Vision
- To undertake any other duty commensurate with the role
You will be a fully qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in a similar role. Self drive, effective communication skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data whilst showing high attention to detail and levels of accuracy are all attributes required.
