This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner to play a key role within our Advice Area. The Paraplanner is integral to the advisory team and will work closely with Financial Advisers, with a direct reporting line to the Practice Manager. The role is contractually based 5 days per week in our Linlithgow office, however, we are currently operating a hybrid working model of three days in the office and 2 days working from home, supporting flexibility while maintaining strong team connection.
You will be responsible for producing high-quality, compliant suitability reports and providing technical support that enables advisers to deliver excellent client outcomes. You will also collaborate with administration and keying teams as required.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with advisers and introducers to support client financial planning needs
- Review and analyse client fact finds and file notes to understand client requirements
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis, including cashflow modelling where required
- Liaise with platforms and providers to obtain information on existing plans and potential investments
- Assess client objectives, priorities, attitude to risk and capacity for loss
- Prepare and maintain compliant client files throughout the advice process
- Produce clear, accurate and detailed suitability reports, including tax calculations where required
- Ensure all work adheres to FCA principles, regulatory standards and internal procedures
- Collaborate with advisers and paraplanners on research for the Centralised Investment Proposition
- Support administration and keying teams to ensure advice is processed accurately and within agreed SLAs
- Process correspondence in line with data protection requirements
- Maintain CPD requirements and keep technical and product knowledge up to date
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (minimum)
- At least 3 years’ paraplanning experience
- Strong customer service background with a clear service mindset and focus on delivering positive client outcomes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, FCA principles and regulatory standards
- Platform and provider familiarity
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Highly organised, adaptable and able to manage workload autonomously
- Experience supporting investment propositions or internal investment committees
- Experience working with bespoke or in-house financial systems
- Interest in new technologies that enhance advice processes
- Salary: £35,000 per annum
- Monday–Thursday 9am–5pm, Friday 9am–4pm
- 30 days annual leave
