Interim Head of Finance Systems D365 β Length: 9-month initial contract
Location: Edinburgh or London
Hybrid: 2β3 days onsite
iMultiply are working with one of the most popular and well positioned businesses in Edinburgh, supporting them on a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Head of Finance Systems to take ownership of a multi-entity D365 environment during a critical transition period. This contract requires an expert who can immediately stabilise the system, resolve ongoing integration challenges, and lead a small finance systems team split across two UK locations. We are looking for someone who can step in quickly and bring both leadership and deep technical ability.
Responsibilities
- Taking full ownership of D365 Finance & Operations, ensuring stability, optimisation, and full utilisation across the finance landscape.
- Leading and developing a small finance systems team, currently split between Edinburgh and London.
- Resolving high-priority issues on the accounts payable/vendor side, including ongoing Zip integration challenges that are currently dominating internal resource time.
- Working with Finance Operations and Finance Transformation teams to translate business needs into practical system improvements.
- Identifying opportunities for increased automation, improved reporting, and additional functionality within D365.
- Providing insight and recommendations on potential new modules or enhancements.
Qualifications
- Expert-level D365 Finance & Operations experience - at least 2 years of experience with D365.
- Strong hands-on systems ownership skills, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- Solid understanding of finance operations, particularly AP and vendor workflows, and multi-entity environments.
- Experience managing or developing a small finance systems team.
- Proven ability to resolve integration issues and improve system automation.
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Experience with Zip, SAP Concur, Pigment, or similar finance tools.
- Exposure to workflow optimisation or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Azure, or Microsoft data infrastructure.
