We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Senior / Associate Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a premium global engineering consultancy in either their Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. This is a highly reputable brand with a modern office and workplace culture, offering services from M&E design, dilapidations, commissioning, technical due diligence and compliance. Looking to speak with professional, ambitious engineers interested in becoming more well rounded and commercially aware. Building types are varied including Offices, Data Centres, Schools, Healthcare and more.
Role:
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems.
- Carry out (and manage others) in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
- Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
- Fee proposals.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
- Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET or working towards this.
- Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as CAD, Amtech, Relux, and Microsoft packages.
- Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
- Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
