Cammach are currently working with our Aberdeenshire-based client to recruit a Student Information Advisor. This is a two-month contract opportunity and will be fully office based.

ROLE

The post of Student Information Advisor has responsibility for ensuring that:

  • They provide a high-quality front-line service, pre-entry guidance, funding and referral information service for all clients of the College which is comprehensive, accurate and efficient.
  • They provide an admissions and funding service which is responsive to the clients needs and expectations in line with agreed quality standards and College admissions and funding procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Implement College policies, particularly those relating to equality and diversity.
  • Implement Health and Safety and security measures in accordance with statutory and College requirements.
  • Develop effective working relationships internally and, where appropriate, with external partners.
  • Support effective quality assurance and quality improvement arrangements in the area of responsibility and constantly seek to identify and adopt best practice approaches
  • Participate in team and Departmental meetings.
  • Participate in the College's staff appraisal/performance management scheme and professional development arrangements
  • Dealing with all enquiries to the highest possible standards of customer care, to both internal and external clients via telephone, email, online, in person and mail in a courteous and pleasant manner.
  • Providing efficient and effective admissions into all College courses/programmes, ensuring that all applications and associated documents are processed within the agreed service standards.
  • Providing accurate, relevant and current information, pre-entry guidance, funding and course/programmes details to customers. Referring queries to the relevant member of College staff or external body as required.
  • Providing a reception service for the Student Advice Centre and Main Receptions.
  • Providing information and general advice to applicants applying for Bursary. Assisting applicants applying for funding in uploading the documents required to complete their funding application.
  • Providing administrative support for Childcare funding applications and payments.
  • Recording accurately all part-time bookings, infills etc. and ensuring the handling of cash (including full-time overseas fees) and receipts complies with College and audit procedures. Reconciliation of the banking and preparing the paperwork for the Business Office and Student Records.
  • Processing all PTFG Bookings for the College.
  • Processing all employer bookings for the College. Issue booking confirmations to the employee and employer.
  • Process personal data and special data in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Transcribing and following up voicemail messages and responding to emails within set service standards.
  • Ensuring general College information on display is up to date, and adequate stocks are held at all times.
  • Ensuring knowledge of College provision and College structure is kept up to date.
  • Working flexibly to meet the needs of the Student Advice Centre and Receptions.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Standard Grade change to National 5 (or SCQF Level 5 or equivalent) in English.
  • ICDL (or equivalent)
  • Desirable - HNC Administration and Information Technology (or equivalent)

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience of working on a busy Reception/Switchboard.
  • Experience of working in a customer care focused environment.
  • Experience of Windows based computer packages.
  • Experience of cash handling and reconciliation.
