Property Inspector (Maintenance) – Local Council
Property Inspector required to support a leading local council in Dundee on a rolling freelance contract.
Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple upgrade and repair projects for social housing estates.
- Conduct internal and external inspections of a variety of housing and public buildings.
- Assess the condition of properties and provide recommendations to management on priority work, current stock condition and longevity of existing infrastructure.
- Influence future budget spend by presenting findings.
- Manage both reactive and proactive maintenance projects, coordinating with end‑users and ensuring council solutions are delivered.
- Interact and empathise with customers and end‑users on a daily basis, providing advice, guidance and solutions.
- Act as the face of the council in social housing projects.
Qualifications
- Background in property inspection, maintenance or stock condition surveying.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within social housing or a local authority.
- Strong customer service skills and a compassionate, kind nature.
- Ability to interact with distressed or frustrated end‑users.
Contract and Remuneration
- Ad‑hoc freelance contract.
- Strong hourly rate with standard mileage allowance.
