Property Inspector (Maintenance) – Local Council

Property Inspector required to support a leading local council in Dundee on a rolling freelance contract.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple upgrade and repair projects for social housing estates.
• Conduct internal and external inspections of a variety of housing and public buildings.
• Assess the condition of properties and provide recommendations to management on priority work, current stock condition and longevity of existing infrastructure.
• Influence future budget spend by presenting findings.
• Manage both reactive and proactive maintenance projects, coordinating with end‑users and ensuring council solutions are delivered.
• Interact and empathise with customers and end‑users on a daily basis, providing advice, guidance and solutions.
• Act as the face of the council in social housing projects.

Qualifications

• Background in property inspection, maintenance or stock condition surveying.
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within social housing or a local authority.
• Strong customer service skills and a compassionate, kind nature.
• Ability to interact with distressed or frustrated end‑users.

Contract and Remuneration

• Ad‑hoc freelance contract.
• Strong hourly rate with standard mileage allowance.
