St Columba's Hospice exists to give everyone who needs it the very best hospice care. We're an independent charity at the heart of our local community, offering free, flexible and person-centred palliative care and support to our patients and their families.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and organised counsellor or CBT therapist to join our Family Support Team on a fixed term basis, starting 1 April 2026. Working with other counsellors and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide psychological therapies to patients with life-limiting illness and their adult family members and will be involved in facilitating bereavement support groups.

You will be a registered, qualified and experienced counsellor or CBT therapist, accredited by BACP or BABCP or eligible for accreditation. You will provide sessions both in person and remotely by telephone or NHS NearMe. With excellent communication skills and demonstrated self-awareness, maturity and sensitivity, you will be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with colleagues, and with volunteers.

This post requires the post holder to be a member of the PVG scheme. An application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before the successful candidate can begin in post. The Hospice will pay/reimburse the cost of this check.
