Company Description - S2 Mechanical Services Ltd are a well established Design & Build Contractor with numerous renowned clients across London and the South of England. We are top tier accredited with most Air Conditioning equipment suppliers and we are F-GAS and BSRIA members too amongst our numerous regulatory associations.
Role Description: This is a full-time office based role for an HVAC Pre-Contracts Manager, based in the Cirencester or Bournemouth areas (where the offices are sited). The primary responsibilities include managing pre-contract stages for HVAC projects, reviewing project specifications, preparing bids, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure project proposals meet client requirements. The role also involves liaising with clients to address their needs, prepare cost estimates, and ensure a seamless handover from pre-contract to the project delivery phase.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in HVAC and Plumbing systems.
- Proven ability in Client Satisfaction and Service.
- Experience in pre contract design Cat A & B along with strong client relationship management.
- Excellent organisational and project coordination skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in working with design and project management teams.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Degree or relevant certification in engineering, building services, or related fields is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Engineering: Perform heating and cooling load calculations, equipment selections, full design capability for VAV, VRF, Chilled beams, 4-pipe FCU systems as well as fundamental design of ductwork and pipework systems.
- Drafting & Modeling: Produce detailed, accurate sketches for the CAD team to work from and design calculations / drawing intent using software like IES, AutoCAD and Revit.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., CIBSE, BSRIA etc).
- Coordination: Collaborate with client design teams, TSMs, architects, structural engineers, and S2 Mechanical M&P (Mechanical & Plumbing) teams to ensure smooth pre-contract development.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation for construction work packs.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC design software (AutoCAD, Revit, IES) as well as standard M365 software.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of VRF/V systems, general thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience: Previous experience in HVAC consulting, design-build, or construction environments considered.
