We are now recruiting Category C (Class 2) drivers to work from our Tonbridge depot. Ideally, you will be aged over 25 and will have some driving experience since gaining your Cat C licence; however, we are open to inexperienced applicants pending a driving assessment. We prefer clean licences, but you must not have more than 6 penalty points on your licence.

The role is Monday to Friday - normal start time is 07:00 with a variable finish time. There is no mandatory requirement to work weekends or bank holidays; however, Saturday work is sometimes available as overtime.

The role involves network delivery and collection of palletised goods (multi-drop using tail-lift and power-assisted pump-trucks) predominantly around Kent and Sussex and the outer part of S.E. London. We do not deliver into Central London.

Your company uniform will be provided free of charge, and full induction and training for the role will be provided. During your first week, we will buddy you up with an experienced driver who will be your passenger and help you to learn all of the practical aspects of the role and ensure you know how to undertake your vehicle checks properly, secure your load adequately, and use the tail-lift and powered pump-truck equipment safely, as well as explaining the paperwork and in-cab tech.

The company has a registered Driver CPC trainer and offers some weekend 7-hour courses at no charge to its drivers. Permanent employment is subject to successful completion of a 3-month probationary period, after which you will be enrolled into our company pension scheme.

Salary is monthly paid with a competitive basic plus the following additional payments:

  • ADR Payment: We deliver some hazardous goods; therefore, we offer our drivers the opportunity to become ADR trained. After successfully completing the 3-month probationary period, you will qualify for ADR training and will be enrolled onto the next available course. This training is undertaken within the working week during which you will also gain 14 Driver CPC hours. Once you have obtained your ADR licence, this attracts an additional weekly payment paid monthly pro-rata.
  • Performance Payment: As long as you get the job right and do not make costly mistakes, then you will receive a weekly performance payment paid monthly pro-rata.
  • Annual Accident Free Payment: If you stay blameworthy accident-free, we will reward you with an annual payment. (The maximum salary advertised includes basic plus ADR, Performance, and Accident Free Payments).

On-site parking, company pension, holiday - 22 days P.A. (1st Jan-31st Dec) + 8 statutory bank holidays, hospital in/out patient benefit scheme.
