Looking for reliable, ongoing HGV Class 1 work? SR Drivers are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Trunking (Category C+E) Drivers on behalf of a long-established transport and logistics client based in Henstridge (BA8). Whether you're looking for full-time ongoing work or flexible ad hoc shifts, we have excellent opportunities available across day and night shifts with immediate starts.
This is a straightforward trunking role involving depot-to-depot trailer movements, collections and trailer swaps. No handball is required, allowing you to focus on driving.
The Role
- Trunking deliveries and collections between customer depots
- Trailer drop and swaps
- Returning loaded trailers back to the depot
- Completing vehicle safety checks and defect reporting
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time
- Complying with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport legislation
- Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times
Shift Patterns
- Day Shifts: Start times between 05:30 - 06:00
- Night Shifts: Start times between 17:30 - 18:00
- Monday to Friday
- Optional weekend shifts available
- Ongoing work
- Ad hoc shifts available
- Immediate starts
Pay Rates
- Day Shifts Monday to Friday - £16.50 per hour or £18.51 per hour including accrued holiday pay
- Saturday - £17.00 per hour or £19.05 per hour including accrued holiday pay
- Sunday - £18.50 per hour or £20.66 per hour including accrued holiday pay
- Night Shifts Monday to Friday - £18.00 per hour or £20.17 per hour including accrued holiday pay
- Saturday - £18.50 per hour or £20.66 per hour including accrued holiday pay
- Sunday - £19.50 per hour or £21.88 per hour including accrued holiday pay
What We're Looking For
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations
- A reliable, professional and safety-focused attitude
