As Class 2 driver the role requires the driving of heavy goods vehicles for the purpose of collecting, delivering & tipping of bulk material.Where possible, class 1 drivers will be basedatthe depot closest to their home butmay be required to work fromother company depots as andwhen the need arises.

Class 2 Driver KeyResponsibilities:

To drive heavy goodsvehicles on a daily basis

To comply with all driver legal requirements

To collect, deliver and tip a variety ofmaterial

To operate wagon and trailer combinations including drawbar

To carry out daily vehicle checks and record on driver app

To ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard

To conduct basic vehiclemaintenance tasks and clean the vehicles as and when required

To comply with allvehicle operating systems

To make written and/or verbal reports to line managers as required

To carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time

To comply with Company policies and procedures as defined inthe EmployeeManual and the post holdersterms & particularsof employment

Essential skills:

  • Afull clean HGV driving license
  • A good working knowledgeof the Highway Code
  • Excellentworkingknowledge of Tacograph rules& regulations
  • Driver CPC (Certificateof Professional Competence)
  • Proven track record of working in a comparable role
  • Minimum 2 years HGV driving experience
  • Proven ability of driving bulk tippers, hook-lift, skip-loader or car transporter vehicles
  • Capable of conducting basic maintenance including, but not exclusive to; greasing, oiling and fueling
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable Skills

  • NVQ/ONC or equivalentqualifications in a relevant subjectarea GCSE Grade Cor above in English &Maths
  • Full geographical knowledge of the area the depot and/or Company serve
  • Relative experience in metal recycling and other associated processes
  • Experience completing Waste Transfer Notes
