Would you like to be part of a small team of talented Cabinet Makers, working on a wide range of bespoke furniture projects for residential and commercial properties? At S. Nicholl Furniture, we make fully bespoke furniture and kitchens. Everything is custom built on site, from a dining chair to a set of wardrobes to fully fitted luxury kitchens. We also have a sawmill business that the candidate would need to help with on occasion.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our Hertfordshire workshop. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 4 years of experience, who is comfortable working on projects independently as well as within a small team. The successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail and work efficiently to a high standard. The role also involves partaking in the fitting of furniture at our clients' properties. Experience of spray finishing would be preferable but not essential.
Our workshop is located in rural Hertfordshire near Hitchin, accessible only by car. Onsite parking is available.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in manufacture through to finished furniture from technical drawings.
- Competent in using woodworking hand tools and large workshop machinery in accordance with safe practices.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, timbers, other materials, and suitable finishes.
- Self-motivated, efficient, and able to manage your own work schedule.
- Minimum of 4 years of cabinet making work experience.
- Keen eye for detail, working to produce furniture to an exceptionally high standard.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience in fitting furniture on site.
- Experience or willingness to learn spray finishing.
- The role will require heavy lifting, including deliveries.
- Full UK driving license required.
