SNG Healthcare is looking for an experienced SEND Teacher / Specialist Tutor to support a young person with Autism and complex learning needs within a bespoke 2:1 package in his home environment in Southampton.

Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with Autism, significant learning difficulties, and EHCP outcomes. They will be responsible for creating and delivering structured, engaging learning opportunities that promote communication, independence, emotional regulation, and educational progress.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience supporting children with Autism and SEND
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
  • Experience supporting behaviours that challenge
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills

Desirable

  • Autism-specific training
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA or equivalent
  • Experience within specialist education or alternative provision

The role will involve working closely with a Learning Support Assistant to provide a safe, structured and engaging learning environment that enables the young person to re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
