About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a specialist children's residential home supporting young people with complex mental health needs. This role is commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Pudsey, Horsforth, Guiseley, Shipley, Batley, Morley, Bingley, Halifax, and surrounding areas. As Registered Manager, you will provide leadership across the administration, care, people management, recruitment and overall management of the home. You will be responsible for ensuring the service delivers a high standard of care while meeting regulatory requirements and quality standards. You will create and maintain a positive, open and inclusive management culture, while working closely with the Responsible Individual and wider team to ensure the home operates safely, effectively and within agreed financial parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and management across the home
- Ensure the home meets relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Responsible Individual
- Lead the recruitment, selection, induction and development of staff
- Manage staffing levels, rotas and agency usage
- Promote a positive culture of performance, teamwork and excellence
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Oversee quality assurance and evaluate standards of care
- Monitor and evaluate care plans and risk assessments
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary mental health teams
- Ensure young people's rights, welfare and care needs are protected
- Promote rehabilitation, self-care and positive outcomes for residents
- Maintain effective budgetary and financial controls
- Participate in the development of activities for residents
- Participate in an on-call rota to support the home when required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a management role within children's residential care
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Good understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards
- Ability to manage care, staffing, compliance and operational requirements effectively
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A positive, proactive and inclusive approach to management
- Relevant qualifications and experience required to undertake the regulated activity
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services
