About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support professional to join a specialist SEN school in Southampton. This is a vital role focused on supporting the wellbeing, emotional development, and personal growth of students. You will help ensure pupils feel safe, supported, and valued, enabling them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care and one-to-one support to students, helping them overcome personal and academic barriers
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to promote student wellbeing
- Support the implementation of pastoral strategies and school policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to student progress and wellbeing
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment
About You
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships with students and staff
- Empathetic, patient, and genuinely passionate about student welfare
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
