About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and confident Shift Leader to join a specialist residential service supporting adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and cognitive impairments. As a Shift Leader, you will take operational responsibility for leading each shift, coordinating staff, overseeing medication administration, and ensuring the safe, effective, and consistent delivery of person-centred, therapeutic care in line with individual support plans and risk assessments. You will act as a role model for professional practice, support the development of support workers, and help create a structured, supportive environment where residents are encouraged to maximise independence, choice, and wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a senior support worker or shift lead role within mental health, learning disabilities, or complex care settings
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support teams on shift
- A calm, confident, and organised approach to managing challenging situations
- Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and person-centred practice
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
- Full driving licence and access to own transport
- A Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care - if you are experienced and prepared to complete this in your first year of employment, please still apply
