Regional Director | Elderly Residential Services | South of England | £75K + Car Allowance We’re recruiting for a senior operational leadership role across a portfolio of elderly residential services in the South of England. The group operates 10+ services and continues to grow, with a strong focus on stabilising leadership, improving compliance, and embedding a values-led culture. This is a key appointment overseeing a defined region of 6–8 services across Surrey, Hampshire, Greater London, Essex, and Berkshire. The services are at varying stages; some are settled, while others require hands-on improvement support. This is due to recent RI ratings, management turnover, and agency reliance in parts of the region. Central infrastructure is in place, and support is available; however, what is needed now is a Regional Director who can lead from the front and consistently maintain high standards for quality and performance. As the Regional Director, you will: * Hold operational responsibility for 6–8 elderly residential care services across the South * Lead, coach, and support Home Managers to drive compliance, culture, and accountability * Work closely with services rated Requires Improvement to implement and monitor action plans * Take the lead on CQC readiness, safeguarding reviews, internal audits, and post-inspection actions * Collaborate with central teams across Quality, Finance, HR, and Compliance to address risks early * Play a key role in supportingthe recruitment and retention of senior leaders across services * Act as the link between home-level management and the executive leadership team * Provide visible support through regular site visits, with flexibility to travel and stay overnight where required * Respond to urgent operational issues outside core hours when necessary This role would be ideal if you: * Have held a Regional Manager, Area Manager, or similar multi-site leadership role in adult social care * Have led turnaround or improvement programmes following RI ratings or safeguarding actions * Are confident holding Home Managers to account while also offering coaching and guidance * Understand CQC regulation and service-level KPIs, including occupancy, budget control, and agency spend * Hold a Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care or Leadership (or equivalent) * Are confident working across residential elderly care (clinical background not essential) * Are based within easy reach of the South East and have a full UK driving licence and your vehicle In return, you will receive: * Salary of up to £75,000 per annum * £3,000 annual car allowance + mileage reimbursement * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays * Company pension and life insurance * Paid DBS * Health and well-being support via an employee assistance programme * Access to funded CPD and e-learning * Stable exec team and supportive infrastructure across Quality, Finance, and Governance This is a key leadership position offering autonomy, challenge, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference across a growing network of elderly care services.
