- Previous experience working with children or in a residential care setting is desirable
- Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held)
About the role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing consistent, high-quality care in a children’s residential setting. You’ll help create a safe, stable, and supportive home environment that enables young people to thrive emotionally, socially, and practically.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting children with daily routines such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care
- Building positive relationships and acting as a key worker
- Encouraging engagement in education, activities, and community life
- Attending appointments and supporting young people in developing independence
- Managing challenging behaviours and responding effectively in crisis situations (training provided)
- Promoting safeguarding and emotional wellbeing at all times
