About the Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established children’s residential home in Waterlooville. This is a key leadership role where you’ll lead shifts, support and mentor staff, and help create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where children can thrive.
Shifts & Working Pattern
- Shifts are based on the needs of the home
- Rota provided 6 weeks in advance
- 1 weekend on / 1 weekend off
Shift patterns include:
- Early: 7:00am – 2:30pm
- Late: 2:30pm – 10:00pm
- Long Day: 7:00am – 10:00pm
Sleep-ins:
- Adhoc basis
- £51.00 per sleep-in
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and plan daily shifts, ensuring children’s individual needs are met
- Act as a role model and mentor to junior staff
- Support the development and implementation of individual care plans
- Maintain a safe, homely, and nurturing environment
- Manage delegated responsibilities and support regulatory compliance
- Uphold safeguarding standards at all times
- Work closely with families and external professionals
- Participate in the on-call rota (1–2 days per week)
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 minimum in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting
- Experience supporting children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Flexible approach to working patterns
