About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established children’s residential home in Waterlooville. This is a key leadership role where you’ll lead shifts, support and mentor staff, and help create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where children can thrive.

Shifts & Working Pattern

  • Shifts are based on the needs of the home
  • Rota provided 6 weeks in advance
  • 1 weekend on / 1 weekend off

Shift patterns include:

  • Early: 7:00am – 2:30pm
  • Late: 2:30pm – 10:00pm
  • Long Day: 7:00am – 10:00pm

Sleep-ins:

  • Adhoc basis
  • £51.00 per sleep-in

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and plan daily shifts, ensuring children’s individual needs are met
  • Act as a role model and mentor to junior staff
  • Support the development and implementation of individual care plans
  • Maintain a safe, homely, and nurturing environment
  • Manage delegated responsibilities and support regulatory compliance
  • Uphold safeguarding standards at all times
  • Work closely with families and external professionals
  • Participate in the on-call rota (1–2 days per week)

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 minimum in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting
  • Experience supporting children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Flexible approach to working patterns
