Setting: 3-bed EBD Home

Working Pattern: 2 on / 4 off rolling rota (including weekends and sleep-ins)

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Deputy Manager to join a 3-bed children's home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and ready to support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care.

You’ll be an integral part of the leadership team, helping to ensure a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can thrive and staff feel empowered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
  • Provide direct care and lead by example in line with care plans
  • Supervise and mentor care staff to ensure high standards of practice
  • Support the delivery of safeguarding and behavioural strategies
  • Contribute to staff rotas, supervision, and shift planning
  • Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies
  • Participate in inspections and help maintain regulatory compliance
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, consistency, and care

Candidate Requirements:

  • Level 3 diploma in Children’s Residential Care (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work toward)
  • Experience in a children’s residential setting is essential
  • Strong leadership potential – ideal for someone stepping into their first management role
  • Full UK driving licence required – home vehicle use included (mostly manual transmission)

Working Pattern:

  • Rota: 2 days on / 4 days off rolling pattern
  • Contracted Hours: 169 hours per month
  • Sleep-ins: Average of 7–10 per month
  • Shift pattern covers 7 days per week on a rotating 6-week schedule
