We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Deputy Manager to join a brand-new 4-bed children's home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference and ready to support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care from the ground up. You will play a key role within the leadership team, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can thrive and staff feel supported and empowered.
Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
- Provide direct care and lead by example in line with individual care plans
- Supervise, mentor, and support staff to maintain high standards of care
- Implement safeguarding procedures and behaviour management strategies
- Assist with staff rotas, supervisions, and shift planning
- Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Support Ofsted inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
- Promote a positive, consistent, and child-centred culture throughout the home
Qualifications and Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (essential)
- Level 5 Diploma (desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Proven experience within a children's residential setting
- Strong leadership potential – ideal for someone stepping into their first Deputy role
- Full UK driving licence (manual preferred – access to home vehicle provided)
- Shift pattern covers 7 days per week; flexibility required to meet the needs of the service
