Head of Solution & Platform Architecture
London - Hybrid 2-3 days per week | Permanent | £130,000 - £160,000 + up to 30% bonus
We are recruiting a senior Head of Solution & Platform Architecture to lead the architecture capability across a large, complex global enterprise technology estate.
This is a genuine architecture-function leadership role. You will own the Solution and Platform Architecture practice, establish standards, patterns and design governance, and ensure cloud, infrastructure, networks, applications, integration and shared platforms operate as one coherent technology ecosystem rather than independent towers.
The client is looking for someone who has built or matured an architecture capability and then remained accountable for it over time - not someone whose experience is primarily a sequence of isolated programme or consulting assignments.
Key Experience needed for the role:
Leadership of a Solution Architecture/Platform Architecture practice or equivalent capability
Broad architecture credibility across cloud, infrastructure, networks, applications, integration and platforms
Architecture governance, design authority, standards, patterns and reference architectures
End-to-end service and cross-domain architecture
Technology simplification, rationalisation and standardisation
Roadmap ownership and lifecycle governance
Strong engagement with Enterprise Architecture, engineering, security and senior business stakeholders
Experience operating in a large established enterprise estate as well as modern cloud and platform environments
Measurable outcomes from architecture decisions - simplification, resilience, cost, delivery speed or business value
Breadth is important, but the client is not expecting one individual to be the deepest specialist in every domain. The priority is sustained architecture-practice ownership, strong cross-domain judgement and the ability to turn strategy into executable technology direction.
Candidates must have unrestricted UK Right to Work without current or future sponsorship and be comfortable working in London approximately 2-3 days per week.
