Senior Software & Cloud Engineer required for a 6-month initial contract with a leading global organisation in their sector. The client needs a genuinely hands-on engineer with strong depth across backend development, AWS cloud operations, Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation, working on the support, development and implementation of various internal systems/projects. Candidates will need to be able to hit the ground running and must be able to explain how they have personally designed, built, deployed, configured, supported and troubleshot production systems.

Core Skills:

  • Python and Node.js Development
  • Production experience building APIs, backend services, automation tooling or operational services.
  • Infrastructure as Code / IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK or similar, with experience defining, versioning and deploying infrastructure safely.
  • AWS Cloud Operations: Practical production experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, IAM and CloudWatch.
  • Docker and Containerisation: Experience writing Dockerfiles, building images, managing configuration and troubleshooting containers.
  • Ansible: Hands-on playbook, provisioning, configuration management or environment automation experience.
  • CI/CD: Jenkins and Bitbucket experience, including build, test, deployment, rollback and release processes.
  • Jira / Agile Delivery: Comfortable working in Jira-led Agile delivery environments.
