Are you a senior Software Engineer / DevOps Contractor looking for a flexible part-time contract? A major professional services company is looking for an experienced contractor to provide hands-on support across backend development, AWS cloud operations and DevOps automation. This is a fully remote, outside IR35 contract working 3 days per week. The client can be flexible on which days are worked, and the role is available to start ASAP.

You will be joining a busy technology environment where you will help maintain existing systems, support active project delivery, and provide knowledge transfer to the wider team.

The role

You will have experience in work across a broad technical stack including:

  • Node.js (strong experience)
  • Python (Flask / FastAPI) - back end production ready
  • AWS: EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk
  • Docker
  • Ansible
  • Linux / shell scripting
  • CI/CD - Jenkins/ Bitbucket
  • Jira

The work will include backend API development, AWS infrastructure support, Docker and container operations, Ansible automation, CI/CD pipeline support and technical documentation.

What we’re looking for

  • 5-7+ years hands-on technical experience
  • Strong production experience with Node.js and Python
  • Backend API development experience
  • Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience
  • Docker and containerisation experience
  • Ansible playbook authoring and automation experience
  • Linux administration experience
  • Jenkins and Bitbucket pipeline experience
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quickly
