The Role
As an Assessment and Qualifications Development Officer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, reviewing, and maintaining qualifications, apprenticeship assessment materials, and learning resources that meet regulatory requirements and industry expectations. Working alongside internal teams, employers, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders, you'll ensure products remain compliant, engaging, and fit for purpose while supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain regulated qualifications and apprenticeship assessment materials
- Design engaging assessment resources and learner support materials
- Ensure products comply with Ofqual Conditions of Recognition and regulatory requirements
- Develop and review end-point assessment and qualification documentation
- Create engaging e-learning content and digital learning resources
- Support the development and review of online assessments and examinations
- Train and standardise Independent Assessors to ensure assessment consistency
- Collaborate with employers, training providers, and subject matter experts
- Review existing qualifications and recommend product improvements
- Analyse assessment data to identify trends and quality improvements
- Support qualification endorsement and accreditation activities
- Produce product guides, assessment documentation, and supporting resources
- Contribute to regulatory submissions and organisational development projects
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an experienced Qualifications Development Officer, Assessment Developer, Product Development Officer, EPA Specialist, Quality Assurance professional, or Apprenticeship specialist with experience working within an Awarding Organisation, EPAO, Further Education, or regulated education environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience developing qualifications and assessment materials
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End-Point Assessment
- Experience working within an Awarding Organisation or EPAO
- Understanding of Ofqual Conditions of Recognition
- Experience with assessment design and quality assurance
- Knowledge of qualification development and regulatory compliance
- Experience delivering standardisation or assessor training
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience using digital learning platforms and assessment technologies
- Ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously
- A recognised teaching, assessment, or quality assurance qualification is desirable
