About the Job

As a Learner Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for promoting, recruiting, and supporting learners onto Adult Education Budget (AEB), Adult Skills Fund (ASF), Employability, and Skills programmes across West Yorkshire. This is a field-based role where you will work closely with community organisations, Job Centres, referral agencies, and local stakeholders to identify potential learners and support them into training opportunities that lead to meaningful progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit learners onto AEB-funded courses, Adult Skills Fund programmes, employability provision, and vocational training opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with Job Centres, community organisations, housing associations, and referral partners
  • Deliver high-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to prospective learners
  • Promote training opportunities through outreach activities, community engagement events, job fairs, and information sessions
  • Support learner recruitment strategies to achieve enrolment targets and KPI objectives
  • Conduct learner eligibility checks and support onboarding processes
  • Maintain accurate learner records in line with ESFA funding and compliance requirements
  • Monitor learner engagement activities and produce performance reports
  • Support learner retention, progression, and positive outcomes throughout their learning journey
  • Stay up to date with AEB, ASF, employability, and adult education developments

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and target-driven professional with experience in learner recruitment, community outreach, employability, or adult education. You will have:

  • Experience as a Learner Engagement Officer, Employability Advisor, Learner Recruitment Officer, Outreach Officer, or similar role
  • Knowledge of Adult Education Budget (AEB), Adult Skills Fund (ASF), ESFA funding, or employability programmes
  • Experience engaging with unemployed adults, community groups, or referral partners
  • An Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working towards learner recruitment targets and KPIs
  • Good IT and administrative skills with experience maintaining compliant learner records
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to community engagement and learner recruitment
  • Understanding of the Further Education, Employability, and Skills sector

Desirable:

  • Experience working within government-funded training programmes
  • Knowledge of Skills Bootcamps, vocational qualifications, or workforce development programmes
  • Existing relationships with local referral networks across West Yorkshire
