About the Job

As Student Support Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting learners throughout their learning journey. Combining pastoral support with key administrative duties, you will act as a trusted point of contact for students, helping them stay organised, engaged, and on track to achieve positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a first point of contact for learners, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical support
  • Monitoring learner attendance, engagement, and progress, identifying and escalating barriers to learning
  • Providing one-to-one pastoral support to learners requiring additional assistance
  • Administering and invigilating examinations in line with awarding body and internal procedures
  • Supporting learners with employability skills, including CV reviews and mock interviews
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and completing administrative tasks to meet compliance requirements
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the training centre
  • Contributing to learner engagement activities, celebrations, and progression or graduation events
  • Assisting with learner communications and social media engagement where required

This is a full-time, on-site role. Working hours include occasional late evenings and Saturdays on a rota basis.

Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this Student Support Administrator role, you will ideally have:

  • At least one year’s experience in an administrative, customer service, or education/training environment
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence using IT systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and learner management systems
  • Clear, professional, and supportive communication skills
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners and helping them progress

Experience within an independent training provider or further education setting is advantageous but not essential.
