The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Apprenticeships Manager will lead the operational delivery, compliance, and performance of funded education contracts, including Apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps, and other government-funded programmes. You will have end-to-end responsibility for ensuring funding rules are met, performance targets are achieved, and delivery teams are supported to maintain outstanding quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full operational lifecycle of funded education contracts
  • Monitoring KPIs including learner starts, retention, achievement, and income
  • Ensuring accurate, timely ILR submissions and full audit readiness
  • Leading internal audits and preparing for external inspections and funding reviews
  • Maintaining performance dashboards, risk registers, delivery schedules, and reports
  • Working closely with curriculum and quality teams to align delivery and compliance
  • Providing strong operational leadership to delivery and support teams
  • Acting as the main operational contact for funders, employers, and partners
  • Monitoring financial performance, funding reconciliation, and recovery planning

Ideal Candidate

This role will suit a confident, detail-driven education professional with a strong background in funded provision and operational leadership. You will have:

  • Proven experience managing Apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps, or ESFA-funded contracts
  • Strong knowledge of ESFA funding rules, ILR data, audits, and compliance requirements
  • Experience in an operational or senior management role within a training provider
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and organisational skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Working knowledge of Ofsted, Ofqual, and awarding body frameworks
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with high attention to detail
  • A collaborative leadership style and commitment to quality improvement
