About the Job
As a Learner Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in recruiting and engaging adult learners onto Adult Education Budget (AEB) programmes across West Yorkshire. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with referral partners and stakeholders, including Job Centres and community organisations
- Identifying and engaging unemployed learners who could benefit from employability and education programmes
- Acting as a key point of contact for learners and partners, providing information, advice, and guidance (IAG)
- Supporting the development and delivery of learner engagement strategies to achieve recruitment targets and KPIs
- Organising and attending community outreach events and engagement activities
- Monitoring engagement activity and producing reports to improve learner outcomes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date learner records
- Supporting learners throughout their journey by offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support
- Keeping up to date with sector policies, funding requirements, and programme developments
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, engaging communities, and helping individuals access opportunities that can change their future.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience working within the employability, adult education, or training sector, with a strong passion for learner engagement and community outreach. You will ideally have:
- An Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification or willingness to work towards one
- Experience within Adult Education Budget (AEB) programmes, employability programmes, or bootcamps
- Proven experience in learner engagement, outreach, or stakeholder relationship management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and general digital literacy
- A good understanding of the adult education and employability sector
