The Opportunity
Are you a Business Development Manager, Education Sales Manager, Account Manager or EdTech Sales professional looking for an opportunity to develop new business within the education technology sector? This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a regional territory, build relationships with education decision-makers and introduce innovative EdTech, digital learning and education software solutions to new and existing customers. You’ll combine consultative sales, new business development and account growth, working with schools, colleges, training providers, Multi-Academy Trusts, local authorities and education partners.

Our client operates across the Education Technology and Awarding Organisation sectors, providing digital learning solutions, literacy and numeracy software, qualifications and educational services. Working with education organisations in the UK and internationally, the organisation uses technology and innovative products to support learning and learner outcomes.
The Role
- Develop and deliver a regional business development strategy to achieve sustainable sales growth.
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, inbound enquiries and consultative selling.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers across schools, colleges, training providers, local authorities and education organisations.
- Promote EdTech solutions, digital learning platforms, literacy and numeracy software and wider educational services.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and discovery through demonstrations, proposals, negotiation and contract agreement.
- Grow existing customer accounts through upselling, cross-selling and strategic account development.
- Deliver engaging virtual and face-to-face product demonstrations and presentations.
- Attend exhibitions, conferences and relevant education sector networking events.
- Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline and provide reliable sales forecasts and performance updates.
- Use market intelligence and customer insight to identify new opportunities and emerging sector requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Customer Experience, Product Development and commercial teams.
- Provide customer and market feedback to support product development, innovation and commercial strategy.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, Account Management or Education Sales with a track record of achieving targets.
- Strong relationship-building skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Experience generating new business while developing and growing existing customer accounts.
- Confident managing sales pipelines, CRM systems and a regional territory.
- Strong consultative selling, presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
- Commercially driven, proactive and motivated by identifying opportunities and solving customer challenges.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Experience within EdTech, SaaS, Education Technology, education software or digital learning would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the UK education sector, including schools, colleges, MATs, training providers or local authorities, would be desirable.
- Experience with education procurement, tenders, frameworks or public sector sales would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays, and attend the Lancaster office as required.
