The Job
As an Employment Advisor, you will work within the South West Staffordshire community providing tailored employment support to individuals facing barriers to work. You will:
- Manage a caseload of approx. 24 clients, supporting them from initial engagement through to sustained employment
- Deliver one-to-one support including CV writing, job searching, interview preparation and career planning
- Complete detailed vocational profiling and personalised action plans
- Work closely with clinical teams to encourage referrals and promote employment as a positive health intervention
- Engage with local employers to identify suitable job opportunities and secure sustainable outcomes
- Provide in-work support to both clients and employers to maintain job retention
- Offer guidance around benefits, health disclosures, workplace adjustments and confidence building
- Maintain accurate records, documentation and compliance across internal systems
This role involves community outreach, lone working and regular travel across the local area, so a full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential.
Ideal Candidate
To succeed as an Employment Advisor, you will bring:
- A strong background in employability, job coaching, careers advice or guidance
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, health conditions or disabilities
- Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills
- Confidence managing a varied caseload independently
- Knowledge of local labour markets and employment support services
- Ability to build relationships with employers, referral partners and clinical teams
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality, inclusion and vocational rehabilitation
