The Role

As an Apprenticeships Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing employer partnerships, and promoting apprenticeship solutions across Digital, Data, Technology, and AI programmes.

Key responsibilities include

  • Generating new business opportunities across the Apprenticeships and Skills sector.
  • Building and managing relationships with levy and non-levy employers.
  • Promoting Digital, Technology, Data, AI, Cyber Security, Software Development, IT Support, Business Intelligence, and Digital Marketing Apprenticeships.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through to contract sign-off and employer onboarding.
  • Conducting employer needs analysis and workforce planning discussions.
  • Advising employers on apprenticeship funding, levy utilisation, and workforce development opportunities.
  • Maintaining an active sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.
  • Achieving monthly sales, employer engagement, and revenue targets.
  • Attending employer meetings, networking events, and industry engagement activities.
  • Working collaboratively with learner engagement, recruitment, and delivery teams to ensure successful programme launches.
  • The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a commercially driven business development professional with experience selling apprenticeship programmes and developing employer partnerships.

You'll have

  • Proven experience in Apprenticeship Sales, Business Development, Employer Engagement, or Training Provider Sales.
  • Strong knowledge of Digital, Technology, Data, IT, Cyber Security, AI, or Software Development Apprenticeships.
  • Experience working with levy and non-levy employers.
  • A successful track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing a complex sales pipeline and CRM system.
  • Commercial awareness with a target-driven and self-motivated approach.
  • The ability to work independently within a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel to Derby once per month.

Highly desirable

  • Knowledge of apprenticeship funding rules and levy transfers.
  • Experience selling workforce development or government-funded training programmes.
  • An existing employer network within the Digital, Technology, or Data sectors.
  • Experience working within Further Education, Apprenticeships, or the Skills sector.
