The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Sales, Account Management or Business Development professional looking for your next opportunity within the Education, Training and Qualifications sector? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a regional portfolio of customers, combining account management, client relationship development and new business generation. You will build strong partnerships, identify opportunities for growth and promote a range of education and qualification products and services. With responsibility for both customer retention and commercial growth, this role would suit someone who is confident working independently, managing a sales pipeline and building relationships with decision-makers across the sector.
About the Organisation
Our client operates within the Education, Training and Qualifications sector, working with customers including Colleges, Adult Education providers, Training Providers and Employers. You will join a commercially focused organisation where customer relationships, quality, innovation and sustainable growth are central to its continued development.
The Role
- Manage and develop a regional portfolio of Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer accounts.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers while acting as a key point of contact.
- Deliver against a 95% income retention target while identifying account growth, upselling and new business opportunities.
- Generate £75,000 of new business annually and maintain a healthy regional sales pipeline.
- Create and deliver regional sales plans aligned with customer needs, corporate objectives and market opportunities.
- Meet with existing customers and prospective clients to present relevant products and services.
- Follow up leads and opportunities consistently while maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts and reports.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support product development, sales strategy and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Commercial, Marketing, Customer Experience, Product Development and Quality teams.
- Contribute to commercial planning, sales meetings, promotional events and wider business growth initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the education, training and qualifications sector.
- Travel extensively throughout the allocated region, including regular overnight stays.
The Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrable B2B sales, account management or business development experience with a track record of achieving targets.
- Experience building and developing long-term customer or client relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing sales pipelines, CRM systems and opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience within Education, Further Education, Adult Education, Training, Qualifications or Awarding Organisations would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage priorities independently.
- Customer-focused, proactive and confident identifying opportunities for retention and growth.
- Positive and adaptable, with the ability to work towards targets, deadlines and changing business priorities.
- Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel extensively with overnight stays.
