Job Description:

Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to assist in a portfolio of software upgrade and implementation programs focusing on Protective Services

Calgary-based client. Candidates can be % remote across Canada working MST hours. 37.5 hour work week.

Must haves:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a focus on large-scale application programs (software development, vendor package procurement, implementations, etc)
  • Experience managing challenging situations with insufficient business requirements, ability to build relationship between business and IT and understand the development of requirements
  • Previous experience within the public sector, and/or experience in Protective Services

Nice to haves:

  • PMP certifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Leads overall project planning and overall execution of the project;
  • Ensures overall project outcomes and deliverables are met;
  • Coordinates IT resources and activities (Client Solutions, Operations, Application Support, etc.);
  • Responsible for overall technical decisions as they relate to corporate IT standards, processes and methodologies;
  • Responsible for following processes within the IT-PMO (Project Management Office)
  • Responsible for following the IT Software Solutions Methodology (SSM), including ensuring that touchpoints to IT groups and other groups within The Corporation are completed;
  • Manages charter, plan, budget, risks/issues, project decisions, Project Change Requests (PCRs), and Project Close;
