Our Saskatoon client has an Outstanding Opportunity for a Permanent Senior IT Security Specialist who is a well-rounded security generalist with deep hands‑on technical expertise, and who thrives in a collaborative environment where both mentoring and execution are essential.
Must Have
- Minimum 10 years as an IT Security Specialist
- Experience in cloud security configuration (GCP, Azure)
- Strong knowledge of security architecture principles
- Hands‑on experience configuring and maintaining tools such as SIEM, PAM, SWG, CASB, EDR, and antimalware platforms
Nice‑to‑Have
- CISSP or other relevant security certifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain risks clearly.
- Generalist‑level understanding of security concepts across multiple domains.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience balancing operational and project work (approx. 50 / 50).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical security expertise to IT projects and business projects
- Conduct security reviews of new applications (on‑premises and cloud)
- Support governance and compliance activities (e.g., security baselines, change reviews)
- Maintain and enhance existing security tools and solutions.
- Implement new security technologies and process improvements.
- Review and approve security‑related changes.
- Mentor junior and intermediate team members.
