Our utility sector client is looking for a Senior Director of Analytics to lead data-driven initiatives for utility clients undergoing digital transformation. A permanent role (preferred) or a multi-year contract. Fully remote across Canada. Ability to travel to client sites throughout Canada and the U.S. (expenses covered by the client).
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams in delivering data analytics solutions tailored to client needs.
- Define and implement data strategies based on client requirements and data maturity levels.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the organization’s data infrastructure.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the impact of data initiatives.
- Stay updated with best practices in data management, analytics, and big data to enhance team capabilities.
- Collaborate with senior management to grow the data analytics practice within the organization.
- Manage and mentor product managers, data engineers, and BI developers.
Must Haves:
- 5-10 years of experience in similar role.
- Proficient in product lifecycle management and agile methodologies.
- Deep knowledge of cloud-based analytics stacks.
- Expertise in data architecture and infrastructure.
- Understanding of data governance and compliance.
- Proficiency in data modeling and database management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of the Snowflake ecosystem.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Experience managing and hiring scrum teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the electric utility industry is a big plus.
