Our Financial Services Client is looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to support the Payments Pod in accelerating critical data engineering deliverables related to payment processing systems.

Overview: The role will focus on building and optimizing data pipelines in Databricks, supporting payment-related data flows, and ensuring timely delivery of high-priority engineering tickets. The ideal candidate will have strong domain knowledge in payments systems including wires, FX, and MT/MX messaging, and will work closely with an existing engineer and data architecture team to expedite delivery commitments before year-end. This is a Contract role until end of year, % Remote, Vancouver, BC preferred, open to BC and Ontario candidates.

Must Have:

  • 8+ years of Data Engineering experience in financial/banking industry
  • Strong experience with SQL and Databricks
  • Experience working with large-scale data pipelines and transformations
  • Strong understanding of payments domain (wires, FX, transaction processing)
  • Familiarity with MT/MX messaging standards
  • Ability to work in fast-paced delivery-focused environments
