Location: Etobicoke (Hybrid, 3x/week)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of system engineers responsible for design, implementation and support of Real-time messaging (Kafka), Managed File Transfers (GoAnywhere), and RPA (UFT) platforms.
  • Oversee and coordinate 24/7 support for all managed platforms, ensuring rapid response and resolution of incidents to maintain service availability.
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical incidents, coordinating with business owners and external vendors to resolve issues within agreed SLAs.
  • Oversee the technical architecture, design, development, and operations of the 3 platforms, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Manage end-to-end availability and performance of mission-critical services, building automation to prevent problem recurrence.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes, procedures and design patterns to ensure consistent, reliable operations across all platform services. This includes cluster configuration, monitoring, scaling, and disaster recovery planning, user and routing onboarding, PCI and security compliance and encryption.
  • Drive automation and continuous delivery, leveraging software provisioning, configuration management, and source code management tools.
  • Partner with architecture and development teams to design scalable solutions, participate in quarterly roadmap planning, and lead technical review sessions.
  • Develop and maintain system and support documentation, including operational guides, network diagrams, and infrastructure design.
  • Inspire and develop team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience managing 24/7 production support teams for mission-critical platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise Managed File Transfer solutions (such as FORTRA GoAnywhere MFT, IBM B2B Integrator/File Gateway, Axway Managed File Transfer) and Kafka platforms (Apache Kafka, Confluent Platform).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hands-on experience implementing Azure based solutions.
  • Strong background in enterprise-grade infrastructures, operations, and/or systems engineering.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and technical peers.
