Int. Application Support Analyst to maintain and support Data Warehouses and Applications for a large insurance client.
Duration: 6 months
Location: Hybrid (Toronto/Waterloo)
This Support Engineer role is on the Operations Support team and is responsible for maintaining and supporting multiple Data Warehouses, BI applications, and data integration applications. The candidate must work well within a dynamic environment and have the ability to understand applications and handle multiple requests and priorities. We value collaborative team players who use their problem-solving and analytical skills to maintain and improve application stability and performance to satisfy client and business objectives.
Must Have Skills:- 3 - 5 years hands-on experience working as an IT Application/Technical support analyst
- 3+ years working in a DW/BI environment
- Experience with Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, flat files
- Knowledge of Business Objects Universe Designer and Web Intelligence
- Finance/Insurance experience
- Computer Science degree or certificate, or equivalent, supplemental training
- Experience with change management and incident management processes
- Knowledge/Experience in Windows and Unix
- ITIL Foundations Level 3 Certification
- Work closely with business partners and internal clients to support data ingestion, retention, and integrity in the EDL.
- Collaborate with Project and Operations teams to schedule and implement changes, minimizing customer impact.
- Lead operations in delivery projects of moderate complexity.
- Monitor and implement operational improvements.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve data discrepancies.
- Follow detailed processes aligned with SLAs, regulations, and partners.
- Maintain and support end-to-end Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions.
- Ensure compliance with incident, problem, and change management policies.
- Provide technical documentation for design and operational support.
- Participate in rotational on-call support, including after hours.
