Our client is building a modern enterprise data platform and is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help design, build, and mature a Snowflake-based data platform hosted on AWS. This role will focus on establishing the core data engineering and infrastructure foundation in a green environment, enabling reliable data ingestion, transformation, observability, and scalability to support downstream analytics and AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a modern enterprise data platform using Snowflake on AWS
- Develop and maintain data ingestion (API, Batch, Streaming and CDC) and transformation pipelines using DBT
- Build and maintain canonical data models with focus on optimization of data structures based on consumption patterns
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitLab
- Work closely with cloud and platform teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure
- Integrate data from SAP S/4 RISE on AWS into the enterprise data platform
- Establish data quality and observability practices (Monte Carlo is a strong plus)
- Support the migration from a legacy Azure-based environment to AWS
- Contribute to architectural decisions as the data platform continues to evolve
Must Have:
- Senior-level Data Engineering experience
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Snowflake
- Experience building data ingestion frameworks (API, Batch, Streaming and CDC)
- Experience with AI assisted programming or vibe coding tools to accelerate development cycles
- Expert in data modelling and SQL queries performance tuning
- Strong experience building data pipelines using DBT
- Strong AWS experience, including services such as: S3, Lambda, Redshift, DynamoDB
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform
- Strong DevOps mindset with experience in CI/CD and automated deployments
- Experience working in early-stage or greenfield data environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fully remote setting
