We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected residential developer operating across the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful commercial team delivering high-quality housing developments, with clear long-term progression and stability within the business.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple residential developments from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational and technical teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position would suit an established Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in housebuilding or residential construction, looking to join a collaborative and forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of residential developments
  • Preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
  • Preparation, negotiation, and agreement of subcontractor accounts
  • Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Produce accurate monthly valuations and financial reporting
  • Work closely with site teams to maintain cost control and programme alignment
  • Assist in tender analysis and procurement strategy
  • Ensure contractual compliance and effective risk management
  • Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required
  • Final account negotiation and project close-out

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential construction / housebuilding
  • Strong understanding of commercial processes across the full project lifecycle
  • Experience managing multiple housing developments simultaneously
  • Excellent knowledge of subcontract procurement and cost management
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Strong contractual and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Organised, commercially driven, and proactive approach
