Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 + package

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a significant Midlands-based construction scheme. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key commercial elements within a high-value project, working within a well-structured and professional commercial team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing project costs and subcontractor packages, ensuring financial performance is achieved while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cost control and commercial reporting across the project
  • Prepare valuations, forecasts, and cost reports
  • Procure and manage subcontractor packages
  • Administer subcontractor accounts, including variations and payments
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure cost efficiency and delivery
  • Support final account negotiation and project close-out

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  • Strong understanding of NEC forms of contract (essential)
  • Knowledge of PPC2000 contracts (desirable)
  • Experience working on MOJ / custodial / prison projects highly desirable
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage packages and take ownership of project finances
