We are currently recruiting for a Domestic Electrician to work in and around the Midlands. While some of our work is Midland based, there will be a requirement for overnight stays and distance travel to complete work outside of the local area occasionally; accommodation costs and stopping away payments are available.

As a Domestic Electrician, you will be responsible for work within domestic properties for wiring new boilers & controls, air source heat pumps, mechanical fans and storage heaters. There is also the opportunity to train on solar install wiring & commissioning. This is a hands-on, field-based role that involves travelling by company van and occasional overnight working away from home. The successful candidate will be confident in all aspects of domestic electrical work including coring for new fans. The role will also involve working with our insulation team to alter and relocate wiring during certain insulation jobs at customers' properties.

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 5 years' experience as a qualified electrician with experience in all domestic requirements of an electrician
  • Qualified to 18th Edition electrical regulations
  • Excellent customer facing skills are important
  • Must be competent with tablets/mobile devices
  • Full driving licence with no more than 6 points
  • Confident working at height/ladder use

Desirable but Not Essential (must be willing to upskill if not)

  • CSCS card
  • Tetra qualified
  • Emergency first aid qualified
  • Solar installation experience and qualifications
  • Battery storage experience and qualification
  • Experience wiring Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Experience wiring electric storage heaters
  • Experience wiring heating systems
  • QS status including 2391 qualification
  • Industrial & Commercial experience

Further Information

You must be competent at working alone on all job types and using your own initiative, but also have good communication skills and be happy to work as part of a team when required. The standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, the company will provide PPE, uniform and a van to be used during working hours.

Salary & Location Summary

  • Work location - travel through Midlands and radius of 2 hours mainly, occasional working away overnight
  • Company Vehicle & Fuel Card
  • Uniform & PPE equipment Provided
  • Usual working hours are 8.00 to 17.00, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). However, flexibility is required in order to meet our customer and business needs.
  • Occasional Saturday working with notice
