We're recruiting on behalf of a highly successful and well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering large-scale residential infrastructure projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Trainee Estimator to join their commercial team based in South Staffs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within estimating.

Whether you're a college leaver, graduate or already working within construction, our client is looking for attitude, enthusiasm and the willingness to learn above all else.

You'll receive full training, ongoing mentoring and the opportunity to work alongside experienced estimators on major residential groundworks and civil engineering schemes for some of the UK's leading housebuilders.

The Role

As part of an experienced estimating team, you'll learn how to prepare competitive tenders, measure quantities, review drawings and specifications, obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations, produce cost comparisons, assist with bid submissions and develop a strong understanding of commercial construction, groundworks and civil engineering projects from enquiry through to contract award.

About You

We're looking for someone who is ambitious, motivated and eager to develop a successful career within construction.

Ideally you'll have

  • A genuine interest in construction or civil engineering.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and IT skills (Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A full UK Driving Licence (or be working towards obtaining one).
