We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Engineer for a temp to perm position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a 24/7 mechanical maintenance team at a FMCG facility. Immediate starts available!
As a Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Engineer you will carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and infrastructure, performing planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime. Support production reliability, respond to breakdowns, and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Food Safety standards.
Hours & Pay
- 39 hrs/week: Monday - Thursday 7:30-16:00, Friday 7:30-15:30 (30-min lunch).
- Hourly rate standard: £19.10/hr, Mon-Fri OT (after 8 hrs): £28.65/hr, Saturday: first 4 hrs £28.65/hr, thereafter £38.20/hr, Sunday: £38.20/hr, Overtime optional.
Key Duties
- Mechanical maintenance, repairs, and improvements to production machinery.
- Planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Respond to breakdowns promptly.
- Work within a multi-skilled Engineering team.
Requirements
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum 3 years' mechanical maintenance experience.
- Welding skills advantageous.
- FMCG/food production experience desirable but not essential.
