We are recruiting an Industrial Sales Manager on behalf of our client, a well established UK manufacturer operating within a specialist technical engineering sector. As part of a wider international group, the business produces engineered industrial equipment and bespoke technical solutions supplied into a range of process driven markets. The company is recognised for its strong technical capability, project support, and customer focused approach.

This Industrial Sales Manager role is a field based position, involving regular travel to customer sites and project locations across the UK. You will take responsibility for developing customer relationships, supporting EPC linked opportunities, and managing enquiries from the initial technical discussion through to securing orders, promoting the business and products. A full UK driving licence is required, and a company car or car allowance is provided.

Hours: 38 per week

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 p/a (Dependant On Experience)

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30-12:50

Industrial Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming enquiries from the first technical conversation through to quotation, negotiation, and final order placement.
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with EPC contractors, industrial clients, and project stakeholders to support ongoing and future opportunities.
  • Identify new business prospects across industrial and project‑driven markets, ensuring leads are followed up and developed.
  • Review customer specifications, drawings, and tender documents, coordinating technical and commercial input from internal teams to produce accurate proposals.
  • Support EPC related activity by maintaining supplier registrations, updating compliance documentation, and managing prequalification requirements.
  • Attend customer sites, project meetings and technical discussions to gather information, clarify requirements, and support the sales process.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to confirm feasibility, resolve technical queries and ensure a smooth transition from order to project delivery.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to support strategic planning and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, update opportunity pipelines, and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the sales function and support the achievement of agreed KPIs.

Industrial Sales Manager Requirements:

  • Proven experience in industrial or technical B2B sales, ideally within a manufacturing or engineered product environment.
  • An Engineering or Manufacturing related qualification (HNC, Degree, or equivalent technical level) would be advantageous.
  • Confident working on project based opportunities such as tenders, EPC enquiries, or contractor led specifications.
  • Comfortable interpreting technical information, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple enquiries at different stages.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and able to work independently while coordinating with internal engineering and operations teams.
  • Familiarity with supplier registration portals, CRM or tender management systems, or experience within process driven industrial sectors is beneficial.
  • Full UK driving licence.
