S&D Trade Recruitment is working with a globally recognised manufacturing leader known for pioneering engineered solutions. We are currently seeking a Commercial Technical Sales professional to join this internationally respected organisation, which boasts a strong track record of innovation, technical expertise, and enduring partnerships within the oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and manufacturing sectors. Based in Bredbury, this role offers an exciting opportunity to apply both your technical knowledge and commercial skills to deliver customised solutions across a variety of industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be driven, technically proficient, and ready to contribute to the growth of a dynamic team.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 β 16:00, Friday 07:30 β 12:50 (38 hours per week).
Salary: Β£30,000 β Β£37,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Offer technical advice and support on trace heating systems, including heat loss calculations and system design.
- Prepare and present detailed sales proposals, quotations, and presentations tailored to client needs.
- Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to strategic sales planning.
- Represent the company at site visits, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using CRM tools.
Requirements:
Required:
- BTEC, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Energy Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in technical sales, application engineering, or project engineering, ideally within heating, electrical, or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (training provided on the companyβs in-house system).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings.
- Full clean UK driving licence (due to company car or car allowance).
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to meet targets and manage deadlines effectively.
Desirable:
- Solid understanding of trace heating systems, including system design and cable selection.
- Familiarity with self-regulating and constant wattage heating cables, along with control and monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of thermal insulation, pipework systems, and temperature maintenance best practices.
- Awareness of electrical standards such as BS 7671 and IEC 60079 (hazardous areas).
- CompEx certification for hazardous area installations is a plus but not essential.
- Product-specific training will be provided.
