POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is for highly organized and customer-centric individuals who have a passion for delivering outstanding results. Previous handyman experience is an asset, but not required - basic construction skills are necessary. This is a great opportunity to develop alongside a fast growing company.
House Doctors is a professional handyman and home improvement service company specializing in both large and small jobs in the Dunbar area. We are looking for energetic and friendly people who enjoy working on various home improvement and maintenance projects such as repairs, flooring, drywall, carpentry, painting, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completing handyman and home improvement projects such as repairs, flooring, drywall, carpentry, painting, etc.
  • Organizing and managing equipment required to complete daily tasks
  • Working with clients to provide exceptional customer service
  • Representing House Doctors in the local community, and networking with potential customers as needs arise
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must have 8+ years of experience with more than 5 as a lead carpenter.
  • Extensive knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and tools a must.
  • Contractors license a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver\'s license.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
  • The ability to safely operate power tools.
  • The ability to read blueprints.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
Must have experience:

  • Leading kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects.
  • Performing all carpentry duties required, including both rough and finish carpentry.
  • Installing appliances, cabinets, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, including minor electrical and plumbing.
  • Installing, mudding, and finishing drywall.
  • Preparing and paint wall, ceilings, and trim.
  • Installing and repair decks, siding, and facia
  • Performing minor roof repair, including flashing around chimneys, dormers etc.
  • Installing interior and exterior doors and windows.
  • Communicate with clients, setting expectations on time frames, including possibilities of change-orders for non-visible damage.
  • Calculating accurate estimates for labor, time, and materials needed for each project.
  • Creating and adjusting project schedules accordingly.
  • Ordering all construction materials needed for projects.
  • Supervising/mentoring unskilled and semi-skilled workers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all work done by the project team, including receipt and change orders.
