The Role:
- Attend college on designated days and successfully complete all college assignments
- Work within the Die Maintenance department and receive instruction and hands-on training to develop skills and knowledge in a range of areas, including:
- the use and interpretation of engineering drawings and documents
- the use of overhead cranes, hand- and air-powered tools
- fitting and assembly
- assembling mechanical products
- welding
- grinding skills
- die assembly
- hydraulics
- pneumatics
- machine repairs
- die repairs
- quality adjustments
- use measuring instruments
- complete quality checks to the standards provided
- control of paperwork
- Work efficiently and effectively in engineering, supporting the team to deliver solutions, meet deadlines and achieve departmental and company Key Performance Indicators
- Practise good Housekeeping and 5S procedures
- Comply with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies and systems, including the quality, health, safety and environmental policies and management systems
- Participate in information sharing, team working and continuous improvement programmes
- Other duties as required
Essential Criteria:
- Willing to undertake and achieve Essential Skills qualifications at college, if required
- Pass Aptitude set by Ryobi after application and shortlisting process is complete
- Applications welcome from those who have already started an NVQ/BTEC qualification
Desirable Criteria:
- GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent in:
- Mathematics
- English
- Science or Engineering
